How sad, simple and eternally greedy it is to look down to Earth from the expensive glasses of an economist.
A BBC article about French students quoted a person from the careers office of Montpellier University as she declared:
"In France, many young people don't study the right subjects..."I advise them they need practical qualifications to work. I come from the private sector and I know that private businesses need young people and, of course, that is where the money is, too. But our education system is a 'has been' - it's too rigid,"
When did we allow our universities to be governed by career offices, BBC articles and above all business?
I agree... Of course, unemployment is a problem. Of course, students would want to have good jobs. Of course, the reluctance of French academia to change is annoying.
But it seems that 21st century diminished the role of the University to a factory to produce "good workers." And nobody seems to be worried!!!
